WHEN THE FIRE FALLS – Pastor Isaac Olutimehin

 

TEXT:
1 Kings 18:30-39 KJV.
☆☆☆ Let’s note verse 38 in particular 👇

“Then the fire of the Lord fell, and *consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water* that was in the trench” – 1 Kings 18:38.

*MESSAGE*
☆☆☆ There was a contest on mount Carmel between the prophets of Baal and the prophet of God, Elijah.
☆☆☆ There was an agreement that the God who answered by fire would remain the only living God. Read 1 Kings 18:24.
☆☆☆ The prophets of Baal prepared an altar and called on their god from morning till evening but he couldn’t answer them. Elijah mocked and asked them to shout louder, peradventure their god was sleeping. Read 1 Kings 18:26-27.

☆☆☆ When it was the turn of Elijah to call on his God, the first thing he did was to *repair the altar.*
☆☆☆ Remember, that same altar was used by the prophets of Baal. It had therefore been polluted.
☆☆☆ Beloved, this is the same way every life that will receive the fire of God must first be repaired.

☆☆☆ Note also that when the fire fell, it consumed the following 👇

*Burnt offering -*
Meaning that the offering of Elijah was acceptable before God as a sacrifice.

*The wood:*
☆☆☆ The wood stands for anything that can create or sponsor heat into your life.
☆☆☆ When the fire of God falls, it will consume whatever can support the fire of the enemy over your life.
☆☆☆ Wood or “sticks” produces flame and heat. Remember the story of Paul, the bible recorded👇

“And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand” – Acts 28:3.

☆☆☆ It was the heat, produced by those sticks, that pushed out the “viper”. The same way “wood”, from the enemies can heat up challenges in the life of men.

*The stones:*
☆☆☆ Those hard and difficult challenges shall be consumed when the fire of God falls.
☆☆☆ Hard and embarrassing situations shall equally be consumed when the fire of God falls.

*The dust* :
☆☆☆ “Dust” is the symbol of man. It represents every human factor that can stand against the progress of the children of God.
☆☆☆ Remember that God created man from the dust 👇
*…..for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.* – Genesis 3:19.

☆☆☆ Also note that after the fall of man, *dust* became food for the devil 👇

“And the Lord God said unto the serpent…., *and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life” – Genesis 3:14.*

☆☆☆ Beloved, when the fire of God falls, the activities of the devil or serpent over man, shall be consumed by fire.

*It licked up the water:*
☆☆☆ Water represents every form of storm or flood of affliction disturbing the peace of your life.
☆☆☆ Read Mark 4:37; Isaiah 59:19.

☆☆☆ Remember, when the storm of life was about to swallow up Peter, he cried to Jesus and he was saved. Read Matthew 14:30.

☆☆☆ Beloved, when the fire of God falls, it will consume your *burnt offerings*, meaning that your sacrifice is acceptable. Read Acts 10:4.
☆☆☆ It will also consume whatever stands for *wood* producing heat; *water* resulting into storms of life; *stones* or difficult situations and the *dust* which represents the acts of men.

*PRAYERS*
1. Father, please repair the altar of my life today.
2. Help me Lord to make every necessary adjustment in my life.
3. Father, you that rescued Peter from the storms of life, please deliver me Lord from the storm that is about to swallow me up.
4. In the name of Jesus, I frustrate every plan of man to render me useless.
5. Oh God my father, deliver me from the heat of the challenges of life.
6. Father, I quench every fire that the enemy is trying to ignite to increase the heat of my life.
7. Father, let your fire fall upon my life to turn all my challenges to ashes.
8. I refuse to become a prey for the devil.
9. Satan, stay out of my life, there is no vacancy for you.
10. Fire of God, fall upon me now in Jesus name.

*PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS*
To somebody out there I command the current heat disturbing the peace of your life to stop forthwith in Jesus name.
To another individual, I decree, the storm of life will not sweep you away in Jesus name.
May your life not become lukewarm for the devil and his agents to hide.
Woman, that strange object moving in your body, the time is up; I flush it out now in Jesus name.
I command the fire of God to melt away all fibroids right now in Jesus name.
I unseat by fire, every power sitting on your breakthrough in Jesus name.
Your entitlements and benefits shall be released from today in Jesus name.
From today, I decree, the fire of God shall consume whatsoever can fuel the fire of the enemy upon your life.
Your life shall be too hot for the devil to hibernate.

*Receive the fire of God now.*
