“We Demand Complete Lifting Of Primary, Secondary Sanctions” — Iran Sets 10-Point Terms For US As Ceasefire Begins
Iran is demanding a firm commitment from the U.S. to non-aggression, alongside recognition of Iran’s continued control over the Strait of Hormuz.
Tension in the Middle East appears to be easing slightly as Iran has reportedly outlined a sweeping set of conditions to the United States before agreeing to reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a vital global oil transit route.
In a statement released by the Iranian Embassy in India, Tehran declared that it would dictate the terms for ending the ongoing hostilities with Washington.
“You started the war, but Iran will set the conditions for its end,” the embassy stated, unveiling what it described as a 10-point framework already considered “workable” by the United States.
According to the statement, Iran is demanding a firm commitment from the U.S. to non-aggression, alongside recognition of Iran’s continued control over the Strait of Hormuz.
The conditions also include acceptance of Iran’s uranium enrichment programme and the complete lifting of both primary and secondary U.S. sanctions imposed on the country.
Tehran further insisted on the termination of all United Nations Security Council resolutions and directives from the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors targeting Iran.
