Video shows moment prisoner allegedly used pepper spray on officer during escape attempt

A video circulating on social media has captured moments a prisoner tried to escape from custody shortly after a court hearing in Kumasi.

According to claims attached to the footage, the suspect attempted to flee after allegedly spraying a Criminal Investigations Department, CID, officer with pepper spray while being escorted.

The alleged attack itself was not captured in the video. However, the footage showed a tense confrontation between the officer and the suspect after the situation escalated.

In the video, the suspect, who was handcuffed and lying on the ground, was seen being stamped in the stomach several times by the angry officer as people gathered tried to intervene.

The attempt was reportedly unsuccessful as he was quickly apprehended and brought back under custody.
