Two Siblings In Adamawa Allegedly Strangle Dad For Locking Their Mother In Police Station

The deceased, a businessman based in Numan, was reportedly attacked and killed by his two sons at about 1am on January 3 at his residence in the Gwe-da-Mallam neighbourhood of the town.

Residents of Numan town in Adamawa State were thrown into grief after two young men, aged 23 and 25, allegedly strangled their father, popularly known as Ogar ThankGod, in the early hours of Saturday.

The deceased, a businessman based in Numan, was reportedly attacked and killed by his two sons at about 1am on January 3 at his residence in the Gwe-da-Mallam neighbourhood of the town.

One of the suspects was identified by neighbours simply as Joshua. The two brothers reportedly fled the scene immediately after the attack, scaling the fence of the house before residents could come to their father’s rescue. The suspects are currently at large.

A neighbour, Falimo Vanco, who spoke to SaharaReporters, said the killing may be linked to an earlier domestic dispute between the deceased and his wife, the mother of the suspects.

Speaking in an emotion-laden voice, Vanco said, “My heart bleeds. We woke up to this terrible incident in our area. May the Almighty deliver this generation and save our children.”

She added that the remains of Ogar ThankGod were later evacuated by operatives of the Numan Divisional Police Headquarters.

When contacted, the spokesperson for the Adamawa State Police Command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said he would obtain full details from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Numan.

However, as of the time of filing this report, he had yet to respond with further information.
