Trump Authorizes Ukraine to Strike Inside Russia

U.S. President Donald J. Trump has authorized Ukraine to carry out long-range drone and missile strikes against targets inside Russia, marking another dramatic escalation in Washington’s support for Kyiv.
According to White House Special Envoy Keith Kellogg, Ukraine has now been granted approval to conduct deep strikes, though certain high-risk or strategically sensitive operations will still require Pentagon clearance.

The move represents the first formal green light for Ukraine to extend its war efforts beyond its borders with U.S. backing.
Military analysts say the decision could significantly expand Ukraine’s ability to pressure Russian logistics, command centers, and supply lines far behind the frontlines. Still, it risks deepening tensions with Moscow, which has repeatedly warned Washington against authorizing such attacks.

Kellogg, speaking in an interview with Fox News, emphasized that the U.S. is committed to giving Ukraine the tools it needs to “win decisively” while maintaining oversight on strikes that could escalate the conflict into direct confrontation between NATO and Russia.
