TROOPS RECOVER SEVEN RIFLES, MOTORCYCLES DURING RAID IN DELTA COMMUNITY

 

Troops of Headquarters 63 Brigade/Sector 1 Joint Task Force, South South Operation DELTA SAFE have recovered seven rifles and two motorcycles during a raid operation conducted at Ibusa in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.

According to a statement issued on Friday by Captain Iliayasu Bawa-Rijau, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 63 Brigade Nigerian Army, Asaba, the operation was carried out on 4 June 2026 following credible intelligence reports.
The statement disclosed that the weapons and motorcycles were discovered in an abandoned police station within the Ibusa community during the operation aimed at flushing out criminal elements from the state.

Commander of 63 Brigade, Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibare, commended the troops for their resilience, professionalism and commitment in the ongoing fight against criminality in the area.

He charged the personnel to sustain the current operational momentum and maintain relentless pressure on criminal elements operating within the brigade’s area of responsibility.

Brigadier General Shonibare also reiterated the formation’s unwavering commitment to denying criminals freedom of action, warning that individuals or groups harbouring illegal arms or engaging in criminal activities would face the full wrath of the law.

The Nigerian Army said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts by security agencies under Operation DELTA SAFE to strengthen security and combat criminal activities across Delta State and the wider South-South region.
