Tragedy as Ijumu APC Chairman Dies During Reconciliation Meeting
Tragedy struck the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State on Friday following the reported death of the party’s local government chairman, Oyewole Mayowa Solomon.
Solomon reportedly slumped and died while attending a reconciliation meeting in Iyara, leaving party members and other stakeholders in shock.
The meeting was reportedly convened as part of ongoing efforts to foster unity, resolve internal differences and strengthen cooperation among APC members in the local government.
According to reports, the chairman was actively participating in the meeting before he suddenly became unconscious. Efforts to revive him reportedly proved unsuccessful.
His sudden death has thrown the Ijumu APC family into mourning, with members expressing sadness over the loss of a leader who was involved in the affairs and activities of the party at the grassroots.
The incident has also cast a sombre mood over the reconciliation process, as party members who gathered to discuss unity and progress were instead confronted with the tragic loss of their chairman.
