“The main wedding recognised by the Bible is the traditional wedding, not the white wedding. Even the church will not wed you without the traditional wedding, so you don’t need to spend money on a white wedding or stress yourself wearing a white gown.”

His comments have since generated mixed reactions on social media, with some users agreeing that traditional marriage should take priority, while others questioned where the Bible specifically mentions traditional weddings.

One user argued that traditional marriage predates colonial influence, while another suggested that couples who cannot afford a large ceremony can simply pay the bride price and have their marriage blessed by a pastor.
