Former Cross River State PDP governorship candidate, Senator Sandy Onor, is set to purchase his presidential nomination and expression of interest forms at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretariat in Abuja today.
Onor, a close political ally of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, is expected to emerge as the first aspirant to formally obtain the PDP presidential nomination forms for the 2027 general elections.
The development marks the official commencement of activities for the PDP presidential race ahead of the party’s primaries. Onor’s decision to throw his hat into the ring is being closely watched, especially given his strong ties to the Wike-led camp within the PDP and his performance as the party’s gubernatorial candidate in Cross River State during the 2023 elections.
