Top Edo Governor’s Aide Allegedly Threatens Davido, Says Singer Has Been Banned From Performing In Edo

Apostle Kassy Chukwu, identified as the Special Adviser to Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, on Digital Media, has reportedly issued a strong warning to Nigerian music star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, over his alleged plans to perform in Edo State.

In a statement circulating on social media, Chukwu was quoted as saying that Davido had been banned from coming to perform in the state and warned that the singer could face physical assault if he was found performing there.
“You have been banned from coming to perform in Edo State. If we catch you, we will tell boys to remove your teeth with slaps,” he was quoted as saying.
The governor’s aide also reportedly blamed Israel Afeare, popularly known as Isreal DMW, for the situation, adding: “I don’t blame you, I blame Isreal DMW.”
The remarks have generated reactions online, with many social media users questioning the propriety of a government official allegedly making threats of violence against a public figure.
The controversy comes amid ongoing public discussions involving Davido and Isreal DMW, who is closely associated with the singer.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no independent confirmation of any official Edo State government directive banning Davido from performing in the state, and it remains unclear whether the reported comments represent the official position of Governor Monday Okpebholo or the Edo State Government.
