TINUBU IS NOT JUST REBUILDING A ROAD – HE IS RESTORING A CRITICAL ECONOMIC CORRIDOR FOR THE NORTH-WEST.
For years, the Abuja–Kaduna–Zaria–Kano highway remained one of Nigeria’s most important but long-delayed infrastructure projects.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has made the completion of this strategic corridor a major priority.
And the difference is now visible.
118 kilometres have been completed, largely using reinforced concrete pavement, while another 164 kilometres has progressed beyond 60% completion.
But the Renewed Hope intervention goes beyond simply finishing what was left behind.
The administration has introduced reinforced concrete pavement for greater durability and has also ordered the installation of solar-powered lighting along the entire route, improving night-time visibility and strengthening security for motorists and communities along the corridor.
The highway stretches across one of the most economically important routes linking Abuja, Kaduna, Zaria and Kano — connecting millions of Nigerians to markets, businesses, farms, institutions and opportunities.
This is why the project matters to the people of the North-West.
President Tinubu did not simply inherit a delayed project and leave it that way. His administration prioritised its completion, mobilised funding, pushed construction forward and introduced more durable infrastructure solutions.
According to the Minister of Works, the remaining section is targeted for completion by November 2026.
For the North-West, this is more than asphalt and concrete.
It is about safer journeys. Faster movement of goods. Stronger economic connections. Better access to markets. And a road built to serve the region for decades.
The work is ongoing. The results are becoming visible.
This is infrastructure under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
