Tinubu Approves Two Flyovers For Awka
President Bola Tinubu has approved the construction of two flyovers in Awka to address traffic challenges and improve road safety.

Anambra State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Arc. Okey Ezeobi who disclosed this during a press briefing in Awka said the proposed flyovers are to be located at Regina Caeli Junction and the second gate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
Arc Ezeobi explained that the state government had made representations to the President over safety concerns and the need to improve traffic movement at the two locations.
According to the commissioner, the proposed flyovers are expected to reduce traffic pressure and provide safer movement for motorists, pedestrians and other road users.
He linked the approvals to the working relationship between Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration and the Federal Government, noting that the cooperation between both levels of government has helped attract major infrastructure interventions to Anambra.
The commissioner also listed the Enugu–Awka–Onitsha road reconstruction and the Second Niger Bridge access road among the federal infrastructure projects with implications for the state and the wider South-East.
The construction timelines and other implementation details of the proposed flyovers were not provided during the briefing.
