He states that the Bible does not explicitly label tattoos as a sin.
Tattoos have a long history, existing in various cultures for centuries.

Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo has weighed in on the debate surrounding tattoos and Christianity, stating that the Bible does not explicitly describe getting a tattoo as a sin.

The clergyman noted that tattoos have existed across different cultures for centuries and have been pat of human society long before modern times.

Speaking on the subject, Pastor Okonkwo argued that there is no specific scripture that directly states that having a tattoo is sinful.

“Tattoos have always been part of human culture… There’s no scripture that says getting a tattoo is a sin.”

His comments have added to the ongoing conversation among Christians about whether tattoos should be considered acceptable or unacceptable based on biblical teachings.

@Denki Urasachi:”As long as his right there’s a twist, the main difference and bad side of tattoos is actually slim to it being good. But u can’t just gamble with it so it’s better to stay off. There again one main thing is don’t draw on ur body in memory of the dead, now thats a sin”

@Wealth Decoder:”pastors are selectively deleting rules dat affects d church’s bottom line. Tattoos are “culture” today, pre-marital sex will be “a private choice” 2moro, & tithes ll stay compulsory 4eva.Modern Christianity is a customizable subscription model tailored to fit ur lifestyle. 😂”

@Eric Ayodele;”He’s right on this one but doesn’t mean he’s saying the truth, fear words coming out from pastors cos devil dey learn from them 😂”

@SPOKEMAN✊:”Well…. there are some things in the bible you cant understand just with the normal human knowledge but with God’s inspiring relevation on that suppose subject”

@Comrade Ayumzi:”But prostitution has been part of human culture too. Even though tattoos have been part of human culture, they have always been contested under moral scrutiny. In the old days, when they first came about, some people still kept their skin ink-free. One thing that isn’t relatable now is the health risks involved, and not just spiritual concerns. In America and all over the globe, a lot of people do not get tattoos because they prefer the authenticity of their skin. Body modification and skin as a medium of art are legal, and it’s your body, your right. But consider the means: some rare tattoo ink is made using the ash of a dead person, and health experst are currently debating if skin cancer among many other things are likely from the art. Dismissing the ethical and moral issues around tattoos by saying they are ancient is like saying prostitution is right because it is ancient. Lots of spiritually gifted people have rejected tattoos in the past. Even the big Jay-Z of hip-hop only has ‘IV’ written on the back of one of his middle fingers. The rapper “Common” and lots of hip-hop heads, teaching us American culture and wokeness, do not have tattoos. A pastor getting tattoos is just being too secular and not deeply spiritual. Many religions, including Christianity, forbid it, quoting Leviticus, though some denominations say it is an old text. Even Islamic scholars see it as haram. So a pastor with tattoos must double-check.”
