The Narrative That Tinubu Did Nothing For North Is A Lie” – Arewa Leader Fires Back At Critics
According to a video on Arise TV on Saturday October 25, 2026, the Coordinating Chairman of Arewa for Asiwaju FCT, Alhaji Shittu Mohammed has debunked the growing narrative that President Bola Tinubu has abandoned the North.
The Arewa leader was speaking during an interview on the 2027 general elections where he announced plans by his group to mobilize 10,000 supporters from the 19 Northern states and the FCT for the President’s campaign flag-off in Kaduna.
Mohammed said the mobilization became necessary because of false claims by opposition elements that Tinubu has done nothing for the North. He said Arewa for Asiwaju has to come out to tell the world the truth about Tinubu’s contributions.
He stated, “There is a narrative that President Tinubu did nothing in the north and that is why Arewa for Asiwaju has to come out to tell the world that this man has done greatly for the north as an individual and as in government.”
The Chairman explained that beyond government, Tinubu as an individual has a long history of supporting Northern interests. He recalled how Tinubu supported Northern candidates since 1992 and sponsored many Arewa politicians personally.
