Terrorists Abduct Seven Family Members, Three Others

The attack reportedly occurred around 9:32pm on Thursday, according to a resident, Markus Yakubu, who confirmed the incident.

Suspected terrorists locally dubbed as bandits have abducted seven members of a single family along with three other residents in Unguwar Sabon-Titi, located on the Katari–Hayin Dam road in the Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The attack reportedly occurred around 9:32pm on Thursday, according to a resident, Markus Yakubu, who confirmed the incident.

Yakubu said the heavily armed assailants stormed a residential compound, quietly rounding up members of one family before moving to a neighbouring house where three additional victims were taken.

“The bandits came in large numbers and surrounded my neighbour’s house. Some of them entered and whisked away members of the family. They then proceeded to another house and abducted three more people,” he said.

He noted that the attackers initially operated without gunfire but began shooting after moving the victims out of the area.

According to him, the silence during the operation may have been due to the proximity of the Divisional Police Officer’s residence to the scene.

“The house of the DPO is very close to where the attack happened. I believe that was why they avoided shooting at first, so as not to attract attention,” Yakubu added.

The abducted victims were identified as Jummai Amos, Barnabas Amos, Iko Amos, Baby Amos, Eunice Amos, Eshiwan Amos, and Godwin Amos. The three other victims taken from a neighbouring house are Bagudu Damisa, Evelyn Damisa, and Alfred Iriyo.

Sources within the community said security operatives have since launched a search operation, combing nearby forests in an effort to locate the bandits and rescue the victims.

Efforts to reach the spokesperson of the Kaduna State

Police Command, DSP Hassan Mansur, for comments were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to calls or text messages regarding the incident.

SaharaReporters had also reported how tragedy struck Kahir village in the Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Sunday night, as terrorists stormed a wedding ceremony, killed 13 guests and abducted many others.

Residents said the attack, which began around 11:47 p.m., has triggered fear across the rural local government, leading many to flee their homes.

The attackers, arriving in large numbers with sophisticated weapons, invaded the venue and opened fire on the unsuspecting guests.

“Many were rushed to the General Hospital in Kagarko, while those in critical condition were referred to Kaduna for advanced medical care,” a resident, Shehu Bala, told journalists in Kaduna.
