Supreme Court Rejects Bid To Remove Arabic Inscription From Nigerian Army Logo
The Supreme Court of Nigeria has dismissed a lawsuit seeking the removal of the Arabic inscription from the Nigerian Army’s logo, bringing the legal battle to an end.
In a judgment delivered on Wednesday in Lagos, the apex court ruled that the plaintiff lacked the legal standing to institute the case on behalf of all Nigerians.
The court held that a single individual cannot represent the entire Nigerian population in a matter of such nature without the required legal authority.
Based on that finding, the Supreme Court struck out the suit, effectively ending the challenge and leaving the Arabic inscription on the Nigerian Army’s emblem unchanged.
