Former president Muhammadu Buhari was died on the 13th of July, 2025 in a London hospital where he was receiving treatment for two weeks before his dying. The late Nigerian leader who served the country as a military leader from 1983-1985 and later as a civilian president from 2015–2023, died at the age of 82.

Omoleye Sowore who among many other Nigerians are critical of the leadership style of the now deceased Nigerian leader, claims that the Muhammadu Buhari’s administration contributed to Nigeria’s economic woes, insecurity and religious bigotry.
Sowore wrote: “Former Nigerian President and ex-military dictator, Muhammadu Buhari, has reportedly died in a UK clinic.
“Sources indicate the cause of death was blood cancer (leukemia).
“A man whose rule — both in uniform and civilian garb — left deep scars on Nigeria’s democratic fabric, Buhari’s legacy remains one of repression, economic hardship, insecurity and religious bigotry”.
