Sowore Alleges DSS Tracking, Says Device Found Under Security Vehicle

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has alleged that operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have been tracking his movements since his arrival in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, for the Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference.

Sowore made the allegation after an incident in which he said an electronic tracking device was discovered underneath a security vehicle he had been using.

According to him, suspicions arose following what he described as “strange movements” observed after his speech at the Kay Hikers gathering.

He said the development prompted his team to change vehicles, leading to the discovery of the alleged tracking device attached beneath the security vehicle.

“DSS has apparently been tracking my movements since I arrived in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, for the Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference,” Sowore said.

He added that the discovery raised concerns about the activities of security operatives monitoring his movements during his stay in the state.

The allegation, however, has not been independently verified, and there was no immediate response from the DSS confirming or denying Sowore’s claim.
