Soldiers Reportedly Raid Abuja Home of Former Bayelsa Governor Timipre Sylva Over Alleged Coup Plot

In a shocking development, reports have emerged that soldiers raided the Abuja residence of former Bayelsa State governor and ex-Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, over alleged links to a failed coup attempt against President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

According to sources, the operation was carried out late last night by a combined team of military and intelligence officers.

The soldiers reportedly stormed the property, conducting a thorough search before arresting Sylva’s younger brother, whose identity has not yet been disclosed.

Details of the alleged coup plot remain sketchy, but security insiders hinted that the raid was part of a broader clampdown on individuals suspected of involvement in a conspiracy to destabilize the current government.
Neither the Nigerian Army nor Sylva’s media team has issued an official statement as of press time, fueling speculation and anxiety in political circles.

Chief Timipre Sylva, a prominent figure in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has maintained a relatively low profile since leaving office as Minister in 2023. His sudden mention in connection with an alleged coup plot has therefore raised eyebrows among observers and supporters alike.
