Prophet Samson Oluwamodede Leads Massive Prayer Walk Against Terrorism and Banditry in Ondo

Concerned by the worsening security situation across Nigeria, members of the Prayer Centre Church of God (PCCG) Worldwide on Sunday (07th of June, 2026) embarked on a peaceful prayer walk across major parts of Akure, the Ondo State capital, calling for an end to insecurity, terrorism, banditry, and kidnappings in the country.
The prayer walk was led by the General Overseer of the church, Prophet and Evangelist Samson Oluwamodede, who joined hundreds of worshippers, including children, youths, women, and elders, in a public demonstration of faith and concern for the nation.

Participants carried placards bearing inscriptions such as “Stop Terrorism Enough!!!”, “End Banditry, End Terrorism”, “Save Our Lives, Oh Lord”, “Stop the Killing”, and “Heal Our Land, O Lord.” The messages reflected the growing anxiety among Nigerians over the increasing cases of kidnappings, killings, and other security challenges affecting communities across the country.
Throughout the procession, prayers were offered for peace, safety, and national healing. The atmosphere remained peaceful and orderly as members moved through different parts of Akure, drawing the attention of residents and road users.

Speaking during the exercise, Prophet Oluwamodede called on God to intervene in Nigeria’s security challenges and restore peace to the nation.

He particularly prayed for the safe and speedy release of children, teachers, and other victims currently being held captive by kidnappers.

The cleric also prayed for divine wisdom for the nation’s leaders, protection for security personnel, and comfort for families affected by violence and insecurity.

Many of the children and youths who participated in the prayer walk carried placards appealing for an end to bloodshed and criminal activities, underscoring the desire of younger generations to grow up in a safer and more peaceful Nigeria.

Residents who witnessed the procession described it as a timely call for collective prayers and action in the face of growing security concerns across the country.
The event concluded with special prayers for Ondo State, Nigeria, and all communities currently facing security threats.
