President Tinubu will never give Governor Adeleke a free hand to return as Governor of Osun State.

Because Tinubu does not trust Adeleke’s judgment when it comes to supporting his ambition, especially when the chips are down.

President Tinubu has not forgotten the fact that Atiku won Osun State in 2023.

Hence, he would do everything within his political reach to ensure that such a scenario does not repeat itself in 2027.

Apart from that, the six South-Western states are supposedly the stronghold of President Tinubu, being someone from the region.

However, Tinubu is already uncertain about Oyo, where Seyi Makinde is also positioning himself for the presidency. Lagos, too, cannot be regarded as a completely sure ground, judging by what happened in 2023.

So, if the APC does not forcefully take Osun away from Adeleke, they could be left with only three states firmly under their control in the South-West.

This is why I believe the battle to retain Osun will be very sore for Governor Adeleke.

The question is:

Will Adeleke survive the full weight of the federal might ?
