Presidency Explains Why Tinubu Sang Nigeria’s Old National Anthem

The Presidency has clarified why President Bola Tinubu and members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) were seen singing “Arise, O Compatriots” during a recent meeting.

According to presidential officials, it was an honest mistake caused by an administrative mix-up, as the old anthem was mistakenly played before the error was noticed.

The Presidency stressed that “Nigeria, We Hail Thee” remains Nigeria’s official national anthem and insisted the incident does not signal any reversal of government policy.
