Police Officer Suffers Broken Leg As Lexus Crashes Into Police Truck On Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway
The incident reportedly occurred when the Lexus driver was exiting Okun Ajah Junction onto the coastal road and reportedly lost control of the vehicle due to the poor condition of the connecting road.

Apolice officer has reportedly suffered a broken leg after a Lexus car rammed into a police truck parked along the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway in Lagos State.
The incident reportedly occurred when the Lexus driver was exiting Okun Ajah Junction onto the coastal road and reportedly lost control of the vehicle due to the poor condition of the connecting road.
The car subsequently crashed into the police truck parked by the roadside.
The affected police officer was among the patrol team deployed to guard the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.
In a distressing video of the incident obtained by SaharaReporters, the injured officer could be heard crying out in pain, describing the severity of his injuries. One of his legs appeared to be broken.
“Ah God, the two legs were affected. God, this is a huge pain. I am in serious pain. God. I should not come to work today. My legs are broken,” the officer was heard saying.
The incident has drawn attention to the safety challenges motorists may face when accessing the coastal highway through connecting roads, particularly where road conditions are poor.
The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is a major road project being developed by the Federal Government to link Lagos with coastal communities and other states along Nigeria’s southern coastline.
The project is expected to improve transportation, support economic activities and reduce travel difficulties along the coastal corridor.
However, the safety of motorists accessing the highway also depends on the condition of connecting roads and junctions, where vehicles enter or exit the main route.
The reported crash at Okun Ajah Junction raises concerns about the condition of the access road and the potential risks to motorists and security personnel stationed along the highway.
SaharaReporters contacted the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, SP Abimbola Adebisi, for comment on the incident, but she had not responded to calls and messages at the time of filing this report.
