People Do Not Understand That It Is Not About What We Want to Eat. He Has Always Cared For Nollywood— Veteran Actor Yinka Quadri on Why Tinubu Has His Vote
Veteran Yoruba actor Yinka Quadri has explained why he and other Nollywood practitioners support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, citing his longstanding financial assistance to members of the entertainment industry and his contributions to infrastructure development.

Speaking on the African A-List programme, Quadri said their support was not just about personal benefits but Tinubu’s history of helping actors since his time as Lagos State governor.
“People do not understand it. It is not about what we want to eat. He has been taking care of those of us in the industry since he was the governor of Lagos,” he said.
The actor recalled how Tinubu paid the hospital bills of late actor Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe, during his illness.
Quadri also recounted how Tinubu provided $25,000 to assist in bringing the remains of actress Moji Olaiya back to Nigeria after her death in Canada in 2017.
“When Moji Olaiya d+ed, I, Fathia Balogun, Yomi Fabiyi and others were trying to bring her back from abroad. We went to Bourdillon to seek financial support.
“He asked us for the cost and paid it. It was a total of $25,000,” Quadri said.
Beyond his personal experiences, the actor praised infrastructure projects in the South-West, including the Papalanto-Sagamu road and the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode route.
“I know it is not enough, but I praise him,” he said.
Quadri also cited pension payments and the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as positive aspects of the Tinubu administration.
His comments come amid growing political discussions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
