Asue Ighodalo, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2024 Edo State gubernatorial election, has expressed disappointment following the Supreme Court judgment that upheld the election of Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Reacting to Thursday’s ruling by the apex court, Ighodalo described the decision as a deep betrayal—not only by those he alleged rigged the election—but also by democratic institutions that should safeguard the will of the people.

He lamented that the verdict undermines the confidence Nigerians place in the judiciary and the electoral system, emphasizing that such outcomes pose a serious threat to the country’s democratic values.
