Pastor Collapses in Lagos After Prolonged Fasting

A man believed to be in his 50s has reportedly collapsed along a roadside in Oshodi, Lagos, sparking concern among passersby who rushed to his aid.

Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred while the man was returning from a church service. He was seen wearing a reflector associated with the The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement, suggesting he had attended or participated in activities organized by the church.

According to those at the scene, the man suddenly fell to the ground, appearing weak and unable to stand. Some witnesses alleged that the collapse may have been linked to prolonged fasting, although this has not been officially confirmed.

Good Samaritans quickly gathered to assist him and reportedly searched for a way to contact his family. After accessing his mobile phone, they were able to reach out for help. During the process, he was identified as a pastor, further raising concerns about the physical toll of extended fasting practices.

The condition of the man at the time of this report remains unclear, as it is not yet known whether he has been taken to a hospital or received medical attention.

The incident has since sparked conversations about the health risks associated with prolonged fasting, especially without proper medical supervision or adequate hydration.
Residents in the area have urged religious leaders and worshippers to prioritize their health while observing spiritual exercises.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
