‘Pain of Labour Is Over’: Remi Tinubu Urges South-East Women to Back Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged women in the South-East to support President Bola Tinubu’s second-term ambition in 2027, declaring that the country has passed through the most difficult phase of his economic reforms and is approaching prosperity.

She made the appeal on Saturday at the South-East APC Women Presidential Rally in Enugu, where she compared the hardship of economic reforms to the pain of childbirth, saying the period of difficulty was over and the time for joy and prosperity had arrived.
At the event, she flagged off the distribution of empowerment items to 5,000 women in Enugu State, including equipment to support small businesses. She also announced plans to provide ₦200,000 business grants to 750 women on December 3 and support another 750 elderly persons aged 65 and above on December 17.
The rally was attended by several South-East political leaders, including Governors Peter Mbah, Hope Uzodimma and Francis Nwifuru, who also expressed support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
