Our Party Does Not Have a Godfather and All Members are Equal – Aregbesola Clarifies ADC Ideology
Rauf Aregbesola, the former governor of Osun State, has clarified the ideology of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) during a meeting in Badagry, Lagos State. He emphasized that the ADC is a people-centered party committed to running a mass-based, People-Friendly Government (PFG).
Aregbesola highlighted key provisions in the ADC’s constitution, including:
– Article 7, Section 3, Subsection 1, which prohibits the influence of moneybags, godfathers, and exploitative elites.
– Section 14, which ensures that no individual can dominate the party.
– Article 12, Section 4, which guarantees women at least 35% representation in elective and appointive offices.
– Article 13, Section 4, which provides the same guarantee for young people.
These provisions aim to promote inclusivity, diversity, and equal opportunities within the party. Aregbesola emphasized that the ADC belongs to all its members and cannot be controlled by any individual.
He invited all Nigerians to join the ADC, stressing that the party offers a better alternative to the current government. Aregbesola believes that the ADC can provide leadership that secures a brighter future for Nigeria’s children and generations to come.
