Orluzurumee Youth Assembly Unveils Lawmakers’ Scorecard Committee

…Puts Orlu Zone Senator, Reps, Assembly Members Under Performance Spotlight

…Demands Accountability, Transparency

In a decisive push for transparent and democratic governance, the Orluzurumee Youth Assembly (OYA), has set up a Legislative Performance Assessment Committee made of critically minded youths to fairly evaluate elected representatives across Orlu Senatorial Zone.

This feat when achieved would signal a new era of citizen-driven accountability, which the Assembly believes would often ginger up the elected legislators to meet the collective needs of the people of Orlu Zone.

The Committee Members are Comr. Nnamdi Achi (Chairman), Comr. Desmond T. Ugwumba (Secretary), Barr. Praise Emejor (Member), Comr. Nze Dim Chibuike (Member), Alvan Chinaka (Member), Comr. Ujunwa Anyaoha (Member), Ikenna Orioha (Member).

Others include the
Representative of National Youth Council of Nigeria – (NYCN Orlu Zone, (Member), the Representative of the Youth Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN, Orlu Zone, Member), the
Representative of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs Orlu Zone, Member), the Representative of Community Youth Leaders, Orlu Zone, Member).

The Representative of Orluzurumee Students (Member), the Representative of the Media, Orlu Zone (Member).

Speaking, National President of Orluzurumee Youth Assembly, Prince Izunna Obiefule, noted that the “initiative is designed to provide a structured, evidence-based evaluation of elected representatives at both the National Assembly and State House of Assembly levels to ensure that the voices and expectations of the people—especially the youth—are reflected in governance outcomes.

Obiefule described the Committee as a “strategic accountability mechanism”, aimed at fostering transparency, citizen engagement and performance-driven representation.

“This Committee represents a new era of civic responsibility in Orlu Zone. Our people deserve to know how well their representatives are performing and this initiative provides a credible platform for that assessment. Public office is a trust  accountability is non-negotiable”, he maintained.

Obiefule called on critical stakeholders and the media from Orlu Zone to fully support this exercise for transparent, people-driven governance, he added would strengthen security, peace and development in the Zone.
