The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of candidates for the 2027 Oyo State governorship election, featuring contenders from several political parties ahead of the poll.
The list contains candidates for the governorship position and their running mates, alongside details including their political party affiliations, ages, gender and educational qualifications.
Among the governorship candidates listed are Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hazeem Ola Gbolarumi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abimbola Adekanmbi of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), and Taofeek Adegboyega Adegoke of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Other candidates on the list include Abdulrahman Oriyomi Hamzat of the Accord party (A), Kunle James Olatunji of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Gbolagade Tajudeen Salami of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and Akinboye Ismaila Tijani of the Action Peoples Party (APP).
The list also features candidates from the Labour Party (LP), National Democratic Congress (NDC), National Democratic Party (NDP), National Rescue Movement (NRM), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Young Progressives Party (YPP) and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), among others.
INEC’s published list provides information on the candidates and their running mates, including the educational qualifications submitted for the election.
The commission’s final list is an important reference for voters and political stakeholders as preparations continue for the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.
