Ondo Police Arrest Four Officers Over Viral Stop-and-Search Misconduct
The four officers involved in the viral video, in which a UK returnee’s driver’s license was seized and they made unethical comments, have been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command.
The issue happened during a stop-and-search along the Lagos-Benin Expressway.
They have been identified as AP/No. 207454 ASP Elomore Sodayo, AP/No. 332012 Inspector Adefila Adewale, AP/No. 332449 Inspector Olorunfemi Opeyemi, and AP/No. 332369 Inspector Odusola Peter.
The Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Felix Ohagwu has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the matter to determine their level of involvement. Afterward, those found guilty will be sanctioned.
