Ogun Police Arrest Security Guard Over Alleged Theft of Motor Spare Parts
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a 32-year-old security guard, Friday Ayuba, for allegedly stealing motor spare parts belonging to his employer at Ita-Asu Village, Owode-Egba.
According to police sources, the arrest followed a report lodged on May 30, 2026, around 6:00 p.m. by the manager of the affected company. Ayuba was earlier apprehended by operatives of the Quick Response Squad (QRS) at the Sagamu Interchange along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway while attempting to move company property without authorization.
Investigators disclosed that Ayuba, who worked as a security guard for the company, was found in possession of several spare parts suspected to have been stolen from the premises. Items recovered include four air controls, two air boosters, two engine seats, and two fuel pumps, all confirmed to be company property.
Police say the suspect admitted to the theft during interrogation. Detectives visited the scene for documentation, while the recovered items were secured as exhibits. Ayuba remains in custody and is expected to be charged in court after investigations are concluded.
The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, praised the vigilance of the company’s management and the swift response of both the QRS and Owode-Egba Division officers. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to safeguarding businesses and residents through intelligence-led policing and proactive crime prevention.
