Obasanjo Warns Against Provoking Igbos in Lagos
Former Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has issued a stern warning over the rising tensions surrounding land ownership disputes in Lagos State. Obasanjo condemned the practice where individuals sell lands to the Igbo community for financial gains and later attempt to reclaim such properties after the proceeds have already been spent, oftentimes on frivolities and extravagant celebrations.
The former Military Head of State and two-term civilian President emphasized that such double-dealing practices are both morally and socially dangerous, as they create resentment and could provoke unnecessary clashes.
