NURTW Chairman Odudu Endorses Omowunmi, Donates 2,000 Campaign Caps
The Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Ondo State, Comrade Adebola Odudu, warmly received the APC candidate for Akure North and South Federal Constituency, Hon. Princess Omowunmi Olatunji-Ohwovoriole, at his office, where he publicly declared his unwavering support for her candidacy ahead of the forthcoming House of Representatives election.
Speaking during the visit, Comrade Odudu described Hon. Omowunmi as a gentle, calm, respectful and highly brilliant woman. He disclosed that he had closely observed her character for over 13 months and had consistently admired her humility and respect for others. According to him, the APC made the right decision by presenting her as its candidate for Akure North and South Federal Constituency.
He further recalled that during the party primary election, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa directed party stakeholders to participate actively in the process, adding that they faithfully carried out the directive. Comrade Odudu assured Hon. Omowunmi of his total commitment, stating that he would mobilise his supporters across Akure North and South Federal Constituency to work tirelessly for her victory at the polls.
“With all my strength and influence across Ondo State, I will support Hon. Omowunmi Olatunji-Ohwovoriole. I have directed all our members to begin mobilisation immediately to ensure her success in the forthcoming election,” he said.
The NURTW Chairman also expressed confidence in Hon. Omowunmi’s ability to provide quality representation, describing her as a generous and compassionate leader who would make Ondo State proud. As a demonstration of the union’s support, he announced the donation of 2,000 campaign caps and directed all members of the union to wear them throughout the campaign.
Also present at the meeting were the NURTW Vice Chairman, Mr. Oyedepo, the Union Treasurer, Mr. Omoniyi Oni, and other officials of the union.
Responding, Hon. Princess Omowunmi Olatunji-Ohwovoriole thanked Comrade Adebola Odudu and the NURTW leadership for the warm reception, describing it as beyond her expectations. She commended the chairman’s leadership, noting that peace had prevailed within the union, with fewer conflicts and improved road safety, which she described as evidence of effective leadership.
She also praised Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for his confidence in the NURTW chairman, stating that the governor had made the right choice.
Hon. Omowunmi was accompanied by Hon. Owoyemi, Hon. Wale Eddo, Comrade Seyi Ogedengbe, Iya Ibironke, Mr. Bayo Olanusi, and Comrade Ogunleye Adilewa, among other supporters.
