Senator representing Sokoto South, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has alleged that Nigeria’s 2023, 2024, and 2025 national budgets were never implemented, claiming that the funds were mismanaged by the Bola Tinubu administration.
Speaking in Hausa during a public outdoor event, Tambuwal — a former Governor of Sokoto State and former Speaker of the House of Representatives — said the budgets existed only on paper, insisting there was no visible evidence of execution.
He further alleged that funds allocated under the budgets were “looted and pocketed,” questioning where the money had gone and accusing government officials of stealing public funds for personal gain.
At the event, Tambuwal also launched a strong criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, accusing the government of manipulating the 2023 election results to take power.
The senator further highlighted worsening conditions across the country, including rising insecurity, increasing poverty, hunger, and unemployment. He accused the government of failing Nigerians in several key areas and warned that funds meant for development projects could instead be used to influence voters ahead of the 2027 general elections.
