Nigerian Police unveil another ‘Welfare Scheme’ For Officers To Take Motorcycles, Tricycles On Loan

Ainternal document from the Nigeria Police Force has revealed a new “welfare” scheme under which officers across the country can acquire motorcycles, tricycles, and mini buses through salary deductions.
This arrangement is in a deal brokered between the Nigeria Police Cooperative Multi-Purpose Society Ltd and Winview Microfinance Bank Ltd.
In the wireless message obtained by SaharaReporters, officers enrolled in long-term repayment plans for motorcycles, tricycles and mini-buses — some running for as long as 80 months — with all deductions taken directly from their salaries via IPPIS.
The document, dated November 11, 2025, was circulated from the office of the Executive Secretary, Police Cooperative, to top police formations including the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCIID), DFA, DOPS, DLS, AIG Zones 1–17, PMF units, State Commands, Police Colleges, and other specialised departments across the country.
The message — which was also copied to the Inspector-General of Police Secretariat, Abuja — introduced Winview Microfinance Bank Limited as the partner company supplying the welfare items.
According to the memo, officers are being offered NPF Bajaj Boxer Motorcycles at a unit price of N2,090,207.92, to be paid over 42 months at N49,768.05 per month.
TVS Tricycles priced at N4,717,103.63, with repayment spread across 80 months at N58,963.80 monthly.
Suzuki Mini Buses costing N5,877,323.67, also over 80 months, with monthly deductions of N73,466.55.
Each product, the memo says, comes with a one-year warranty, and all payments will be deducted directly from officers’ salaries via IPPIS.
The forms for the programme will be provided free of charge at all cooperative shops nationwide, according to the document. Officers seeking further information were directed to call in.

In July, SaharaReporters reported that the Nigeria Police Cooperative Multi-Purpose Society also announced a new welfare initiative involving the sale of high-end electric motorcycles to officers on loan.
According to a wireless message marked “CB:4780/COOP/VOL.2/48”, the scheme is part of a broader welfare programme approved by the Inspector General of Police.
Titled “POLICE WIRELESS MESSAGE” and addressed to virtually all police commands and units across the country, including DFA, DOPS, DLS, FCIID, COMPOLS of all states, and various tactical squads, the notice revealed that the bikes will be provided by a private firm named Joafol Communications.
The message, distributed by the Executive Secretary of the Police Cooperative, added that the Spiro Electric Bikes can travel up to 80 kilometers on a full charge and are now available to interested officers through a salary deduction plan.
The total cost of each electric bike is pegged at One Million, Nine Hundred Thousand Naira (₦1,900,000), with a monthly deduction of ₦45,000 over a 43-month repayment period.
This is coming several months after the force introduced Bulk Stalker Engineering Limited to personnel as part of the welfare programme initiated by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
In a police wireless message dated March 12, 2025, the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) overseeing the Police Cooperative Society in Lagos informed all departments, commands, and other units through the Nigeria Police Cooperative Multi-Purpose Society Ltd.
It identified the company as “suppliers of tricycle trucks, trike pick-up, TTI single cabin, tricycle taxis, trike taxi TP7, Trika ambulance on loan to interested members of the force at the rate of five million five hundred thousand naira (N5,500,000) only”.
It said that “monthly deduction will be ninety thousand naira (N90,000) only”, which is “to be paid within sixty (60) months”.
It noted that the “money will be deducted from recipient’s salary via IPPIS”.
