Nigerian military foiled an ISWAP attack in Borno State, killing several terrorists as they attempted to escape.

The troops successfully repelled the attack in Azir, Damboa Local Government Area, neutralizing many of the assailants and forcing others to flee, security sources disclosed.
The Nigerian Air Force supported the ground operation with precision airstrikes, tracking and engaging the fleeing terrorists at identified locations.

Although some military vehicles were destroyed by rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) fire during the clash, the troops held their ground and retained control of the area.
A cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the terrorists’ abandoned positions, including improvised explosive devices and live rounds.

Sources confirmed that the operation dealt a major blow to ISWAP, greatly reducing its ability to carry out further attacks in the area and resulting in significant losses for the group.
