Niger Govt Gives N5m Each to Families of 37 Miners, N2m to 32 Survivors

The Niger State Government has provided N5 million each to the families of 37 artisanal miners who died in a mining incident, while 32 survivors received N2 million each as support to cushion the impact of the incident.

The cheques were presented by the Niger State Governor, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, to the Emir of Minna, Alhaji Umar Faruk Bahago, at the Council Chamber of the Government House in Minna on Monday, October 5, 2026.
