My Only Brother Was Abducted And His Abductors Demanded N200M, We Paid N50M For His Release – Senator
Former Senator Olusola Adeyeye, who represented Osun Central, has revealed that his only brother, a prominent farmer in their hometown in Osun State, was abducted from his residence during a late-night raid by kidnappers who initially demanded a ₦200 million ransom.

Speaking on Channels TV, Adeyeye said the incident occurred recently when the abductors invaded his brother’s home close to midnight and took him away. He explained that his brother operated one of the biggest farms in their community.
According to the former senator, the family struggled for a long time to raise the ransom demanded by the kidnappers before eventually paying close to ₦50 million to secure his brother’s release.
Adeyeye also disclosed that technology helped him determine where his brother was being held, although he did not provide further details about how he obtained the information.
He said he contacted senior security officials across several states for assistance, but they expressed sympathy while acknowledging the limitations they faced in carrying out a rescue operation.
Adeyeye explained that the officials warned him that an unsuccessful or poorly coordinated rescue attempt could put his brother’s life at risk.
Following his brother’s eventual release, the family reportedly held a meeting and unanimously decided that he would no longer return to the farm.
The revelation highlights the security challenges facing farmers and rural communities in parts of Nigeria, where kidnappings for ransom have continued to raise concerns about the safety of residents and agricultural activities.
