Makinde Updates on Abducted Oyo Pupils and Teachers Amid Ongoing Rescue Operations
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has provided an update on pupils and teachers abducted from schools in Yawota and Ahoro-Esinle communities in Oriire Local Government Area.
According to the governor, the abducted victims remain within the wider Old Oyo National Park corridor, where security agencies have been intensifying efforts to secure their safe release, 27 days after the abduction.
Governor Makinde urged residents to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities to the state’s emergency line (615), and avoid spreading unverified information that could undermine ongoing rescue operations. He reassured families that every credible lead is being actively pursued.
“The children and teachers remain at the center of our efforts every single day,” the governor said, appealing for prayers and continued public support for the rescue operations.
