…..Tackles Opposition Over Mockery of Tinubu’s Fall, Says Leadership Is Beyond Physical Slips…..

The noise is loud again. A man slipped, and suddenly the opposition has found their manifesto.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu accidentally slipped, and within minutes, the usual chorus began. Not a debate about policy. Not a debate about the economy. Not a debate about security. Just a slip. A single human moment, replayed, mocked, and weaponized as if it were proof of unfitness.

It is a shameful kind of politics, and it deserves to be called what it is: empty.

Because slipping has nothing to do with age.

Infants slip. Watch a baby learning to walk. He falls ten times before he takes ten steps. Does anyone call him old? Does anyone call him unfit?

Minors slip. Children run in schoolyards, slip on wet floors, trip on football fields, fall off bicycles. Teenagers slip on stairs. Young athletes, in the peak of their physical strength, slip on the pitch in front of millions.

Middle-aged men slip. Fit men slip. Strong men slip. Men in their thirties and forties slip in offices, in markets, in churches, in mosques, on polished tiles, on wet pavements. It happens to the young, the old, the tall, the short, the rich, the poor.

To slip is to be human. It is gravity, not age. It is a momentary loss of balance, not a loss of capacity to lead a nation of over 220 million people.

So let him who has never slipped before throw the first stone.

Let the opposition leader who has never tripped, never stumbled, never missed a step in his entire life stand up and cast that stone. He cannot, because he does not exist. Every one of them has slipped, in public or in private. The only difference is that their slips were not caught on camera, and Tinubu’s was.

If this is the best the opposition has to offer Nigeria — mocking a slip — then Nigeria is in trouble with that opposition, not with this President.

Because while they were laughing at a slip, Tinubu was standing firm where it matters: in leadership.

The Evidence: Tinubu Is The Best Man For The Job

Nigeria has had leaders for 66 years. Many promised change. Few delivered it. Tinubu did not come to make noise. He came to make hard decisions that others were too afraid to make.

1. He Removed The Fuel Subsidy That Was Bleeding Nigeria Dry

For decades, fuel subsidy was a bottomless pit. Trillions of naira went to a few cabals while the masses suffered. Every president knew it was killing the economy, but none had the courage to end it. Tinubu ended it on day one. That single decision freed billions for states, for infrastructure, for education, for healthcare. It was painful, yes, but it was necessary. A weak leader would have postponed it. A strong leader did it.

2. He Unified The Exchange Rate And Ended The Forex Cabal

Before Tinubu, Nigeria had multiple exchange rates — one for the connected, one for the suffering. The CBN was a bazaar for the privileged. Tinubu unified the rates, restored transparency, and brought back investor confidence. Foreign investors who had fled Nigeria are returning because they finally trust the system.

3. He Secured Record Revenue And Gave States More Money Than Ever Before

Under Tinubu, federal allocations to states have more than doubled. States that once could not pay salaries now receive record FAAC allocations. This is not theory. This is money in state accounts, funding roads, schools, and hospitals across the federation.

4. He Launched The Student Loan Scheme — First Of Its Kind

For the first time in Nigerian history, indigent students can access interest-free loans to go to university without dropping out for lack of fees. Millions of young Nigerians who would have been locked out of education now have a future. No president in 66 years did this.

5. He Rebuilt Infrastructure At A Scale Never Seen

From the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway to the Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, from the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano railway to massive road rehabilitation across all six geopolitical zones, Tinubu is building a new Nigeria. He is not patching potholes. He is building highways that will serve generations.

6. He Revolutionized Agriculture And Food Security

Tinubu declared a state of emergency on food security, released thousands of tractors, supported mechanized farming, and pushed Nigeria toward self-sufficiency. Food production is rising, and Nigeria is moving from importing what it can grow to growing what it needs.

7. He Strengthened Security And Decimated Terror Networks

He increased defence funding, approved new military hardware, and empowered the armed forces to take the fight to terrorists, bandits, and kidnappers. Terrorist commanders who operated freely for years have been neutralized. Kidnapping hotspots are being cleared. Nigeria is safer than it was when he took over.

8. He Reformed Taxation And Made The System Fair

His tax reform bills simplified a chaotic system, protected small businesses, and ensured the rich pay their fair share. He did what technocrats had talked about for 30 years but never implemented.

9 He Attracted Record Foreign Investment

From $30 billion in foreign investment commitments in his first year, to new partnerships with the US, UK, China, UAE, and India, Tinubu has restored Nigeria’s place as Africa’s number one investment destination. The world is doing business with Nigeria again.

10. He Protected The Poor While Reforming

While making tough reforms, he did not forget the vulnerable. He launched cash transfers, CNG buses to cut transport costs, consumer credit schemes, and the Renewed Hope Housing programme to give ordinary Nigerians homes. Reform with a human face.

The Conclusion

In 66 years of independence, Nigeria has had soldiers, academics, activists, and politicians as leaders. Some were honest but weak. Some were strong but visionless. Some were popular but directionless.

Tinubu is different. He is honest, strong, visionary, and decisive. He did in two years what others could not do in eight. He took the hard road, not the popular road.

A slip on the ground does not define a man. What defines a man is whether he gets up and keeps walking — and keeps leading. Tinubu slipped, he got up, he smiled, and he kept walking. Just as he has kept Nigeria walking, through subsidy removal, through forex reform, through security challenges, through global economic storms.

The opposition laughs at a slip because they cannot attack his record. They have no record to match him. They have no courage to match him. They have no vision to match him.

Nigeria does not need a president who has never slipped. Nigeria needs a president who has never surrendered. That man is Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He is not just the best man for the job today. He is the best Nigeria has ever had in 66 years.
