Kumuyi Inaugurates Anchor University Council, Names Babalola Pro-Chancellor
Pastor William Kumuyi, Chancellor of Anchor University, Lagos, has inaugurated the institution’s third Governing Council, with Professor Joel Babalola appointed as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the council. (Punch Newspapers)

The inauguration took place at the university’s Senate Chambers in Ayobo, Lagos, and was attended by leaders of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, members of the university’s Board of Trustees and representatives of the academic community.
Babalola, a professor of Education Management and former Dean at the University of Ibadan, will lead the new governing council as Anchor University begins implementing its 10-year strategic roadmap covering 2026 to 2036.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Pastor Obinna Nkemjika, charged the newly inaugurated council members to ensure the effective implementation of the university’s development plans.
Nkemjika described the governing council as the key organ responsible for making strategic decisions aimed at the smooth running and advancement of the institution.
The new council is expected to provide strategic leadership as Anchor University pursues its long-term academic, administrative and institutional development objectives.
