JUST IN: We’re in Deep Troublë”– Datti Warns Nîgeriãns Of 2027 Plot
According to a YouTube video by Symfoni TV on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed said Nigeria was facing serious political and security challenges ahead of the 2027 elections.
Baba-Ahmed said he currently had no candidate he could confidently endorse. He explained that he belonged to the Peoples Redemption Party and had supported its candidate. However, he said the candidate had not performed well enough for him to recommend him to Nigerians.
He also expressed concern about the situation in the country beyond the 2027 elections. Baba-Ahmed said it was too early to discuss the 2031 election, given the security challenges facing the nation. He urged the government to prioritise the release and rehabilitation of people held in captivity and to end the killings.
He said, “It is premature for anybody to talk of 2031 now, because we don’t realise what kind of deep trouble we are. My own is that the people in captivity, go and bring them out, please. Free them. Rehabilitate them and then stop the killings.”
Baba-Ahmed also questioned claims by the Tinubu administration about its economic achievements and the defeat of terrorism. He said such claims should be measured against the situation on the ground, particularly reports of continued killings across the country.
