JUST IN: Plane bursts into flames moments after takeoff, kills two

A video currently making rounds online has shown the moment a plane bursts into flames minutes after takeoff, killing the two passengers onboard in Venezuela.

The video also showed the terrifying moment the aircraft barely lifted off the ground before tilting and falling.

The Cheyenne model plane tumbled down onto one of its wings, exploding into a fireball. Stunned witnesses watching the plane taking off nearby were heard screaming as the plane showed signs of distress.

According to DailyMail, the plane was taking off from Paramillo Airport in Táchira when it crashed at the Paramillo Airfield in San Cristóbal National Park.

The deceased victims were unofficially identified as Toni Bortone and Juan Maldonado, according to local outlet El Nacional

Stakeholders in the aviation sector have raised alarm at the increasing rate of plane crashes across the world, calling for improved safety measures to minimise plane crashes.

According to the National Transportation Safety Board, there have been 1,091 aviation accidents so far in 2025. Of these, 200 were considered fatal accidents, and 891 were non-fatal.
