Just In : PDP unseats APC in Zamfara, as Lawal wins governorship election

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has defeated the ruling All Progressives Congress in the governor’s race in Zamfara state (APC).

In the wee hours of Tuesday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that Dauda Lawal of the PDP had won the governorship.

He received 377,726 votes in total, defeating the incumbent governor and APC candidate Bello Matawalle, who received 311,976 votes
