JUST IN: Fire Breaks Out At Lagos Airport Old Terminal, No Casualty Reported
A fire outbreak has affected the old terminal of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
The affected terminal, which is part of the airport’s older infrastructure, is currently undergoing renovation as part of efforts to upgrade facilities and improve passenger experience.
Confirming the incident, the Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Henry Agbebire, said officials were already on ground managing the situation.
He stated that the agency’s emergency response and firefighting teams quickly moved in to contain the fire and prevent further damage.
According to him, no life was lost in the incident. He assured the public that the situation was under control and that more updates would be provided in an official statement.
Passengers and airport users have been advised to stay calm while authorities work to fully extinguish the fire and assess the level of damage.
