Prominent human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), has stirred fresh debate over energy equity in Nigeria following reports that solar power systems have been installed at the Presidential Villa.
Falana argued that since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s residence at Aso Rock now benefits from solar energy—allegedly funded with public resources—ordinary Nigerians should equally be entitled to similar access.

He stressed that if public funds were indeed used for the solar installation at the Villa, then it is only just that citizens across the country benefit from such renewable energy solutions.
