Prince Abiola Olojo-Kosoko claims he’s the rightful Oloja-elect of Lagos, accusing Jide Kosoko of betrayal. The dispute centers on the Oloja of Lagos chieftaincy, with Abiola asserting his emergence followed due process under the Obas and Chiefs of Lagos State Law.
Abiola, from the Akinsanya Olojo Ruling House, says he was selected as Oloja-elect on December 12, 2020, after securing four out of seven votes from kingmakers. He alleges Jide Kosoko, head of the Oteniya Ruling House, is attempting to present himself as Oloja-elect irregularly .
The matter is currently in court, with Abiola suing the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, and the Inspector-General of Police over alleged harassment and land disputes. Jide Kosoko has been announced as Oloja-elect by the King Kosoko Royal Family, sparking controversy .
