ISRAEL WARNS TURKEY: “DON’T DRAG YOURSELF INTO DANGEROUS ADVENTURES IN SYRIA”

Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz has issued a strong warning to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan over Turkey’s growing involvement in Syria.

Katz accused Erdogan of dragging Turkey into what he described as “dangerous adventures” in Syria, following an Israeli airstrike on a Syrian military base that Israel claimed could be linked to a potential Turkish military deployment.

The Israeli strike has increased tensions between Israel, Turkey and Syria, raising concerns about the possibility of a wider confrontation.

Israel says the operation was carried out because the facility could have become a security threat.

However, Turkey and Syria have rejected Israel’s claims.

Syrian authorities said the base was largely unoccupied and undergoing rehabilitation. Damascus also acknowledged that Turkish military officers had visited the facility but said their presence was connected to military training and professional cooperation.

Katz warned Erdogan against taking actions that could push the two countries toward a direct military confrontation.

«“Israel will not allow any entity to threaten its security,” Katz said.»

Turkey has continued to strengthen its relationship with Syria’s new leadership, while Israel remains closely focused on developments across its northern border.
