Popular Nigerian cleric Evangelist Ebuka Obi has sparked heated debate online after a video of him sharing his thoughts on the differences between men and women when it comes to appreciating those who support them resurfaced on social media.Nigeria Travel Guides
In the now-viral clip, the preacher argued that men are generally more likely to remember people who stood by them during difficult moments, while women, according to him, often forget past acts of kindness once they move on to new relationships.
Sharing his opinion, Ebuka Obi said:
“Invest in a fellow man there is possibility that he will remember. But when you invest in a woman, when she will remember you is when she’s in need again.
Men hardly forget. One day they will remember that this man helped them when they were in secondary school.
But women, if they meet another relationship, they have moved on. If she even see you in a vehicle, she will do like this (waving).
When a woman move, when a woman meets another man, she forgets everything you have done for her. But a fellow man cannot even forget easily.”
The remarks quickly spread across various social media platforms, drawing thousands of reactions from users with contrasting opinions.
While some commenters agreed with the cleric’s perspective, insisting that many men tend to remain grateful to those who helped them succeed, others criticized his remarks as an unfair generalization. They argued that gratitude is a personal trait that varies from one individual to another and should not be determined by gender.
As discussions continue online, the viral video has fueled another round of conversations about relationships, loyalty, and appreciation, with many Nigerians weighing in from different perspectives.Nigeria Travel Guides
